Alison Larry Nungarrayi is from Kintore, a remote Aboriginal community 550km west of Alice Springs. When she was young, her father died and her mother raised Alison Larry Nungarrayi and her three sisters alone. Alison Larry Nungarrayi now lives in Kiwirrkurra, a Western Australian community in the Gibson Desert west of Alice Springs.

Alison Larry Nungarrayi has joined the Yuendumu Art Centre. She uses an original palette to paint the site of her dreams, including Yumari, developing a modern, individualistic style to depict her traditional Jukurrpa.
