Biography

Jorna Newberry is a painter from the Pitjantjatjara language group, born in 1959 in Angus Downs. She lives between Alice Springs, where her family still resides, and Warakurna. Like most Aboriginal artists, Jorna uses the ‘dot painting’ technique, inspired by the floor paintings traditionally produced for ritual ceremonies.
