Tingari Cycle
Biography
One of Kintore's most prominent painters, Ronnie has a strong attachment to the area from which his tribe was dispossessed. In his work he depicts the sacred site of Pilkinya where an old Tingari man came to rest in the mythical Dreamtime. The Tingari, ancestral figures, moved across the Australian continent creating sites and ceremonies. Their journeys are described in numerous songs that are still used today for initiation. All the works of this aboriginal painter that we propose you come exclusively from the art centre of Papunya Tula Artists Limited.
