This work by Anthony White evokes the treason charges brought against the thirteen miners who resisted the government's over-application of licence fees in the colonial state of Victoria. The painting symbolises a new beginning, depicting the sun rising after the court dismissed all charges against the miners.

‘From an artistic point of view, I'm drawn to the intersection of art and political action. The Eureka rebellion was a turning point in Australian democracy and remains relevant to the wider global democracy movement. Some pieces from the Manifestation series were also exhibited in Ballarat this year to commemorate the 170th anniversary of the Eureka Rebellion.’ - Anthony White
