‘People think Badu is a tropical island with no marshes, but it's not. There are marshes, ducks and crayfish. Kagul are the crayfish that are caught mainly at monsoon time. All you have to do is wait in the water for them to approach and all you have to do is catch them. Sometimes they pinch you and make you scream. There are also the ducks and geese that come from New Guinea at monsoon time, so you spend a lot of time in the marshes. The sea isn't everything, as the islanders can also hunt animals like porcupines on land.’  Dennis Nona
