Here, Kathleen Petyarre depicts a topographical view of her clan territory, covering some 200 km² in the heart of Australia's Central Desert, near the community of Utopia. It is the ancestral myth of the Arnkerrth Lizard Woman that Kathleen evokes in this wonderful work.
At the center of the canva is a sacred ceremonial site associated with the "green pea" (Awenth). The seeds of this leguminous plant are eaten by Arnkerrth and the healers (ngangkar).
