The paintings of Magardi Jukurrpa or Hair String Belt, or even Tassle Dreaming, refer to the belt worn during ceremonies.

Magardi is a belt made of Purdurru (spun hair or fur) worn during traditional ceremonies. Human hair and sometimes the fur of wallabies or possums is wound around the thigh and then spun using a Wirinkirri (stick spindle).

During the Jukurrpa era, Napangardi and Napanangka women lived at Mina Mina, a site of great religious importance, far to the west of Yuendumu in Central Australia.

The women travelled around their country performing ceremonies and dances bearing their Majardi. This Dreaming belongs to the women of the Napangardi and Napanangka sub-sections and to the Japangardi and Japanangka men.
