Anita Gibson Nakamarra was born in 1964 in Yuendumu, an isolated Aboriginal community located 290 km northwest of Alice Springs in the Northwest Territory of Australia. Daughter of artist Nancy Gibson Napanangka. Anita Gibson inherited her father’s dreams, which relate directly to her land, its characteristics and the plants and animals that inhabit it. 

It evokes here the Dream (Jukurrpa) of the Water (Ngapa) linked to the sacred site of Puyurru. Two rain-making Jangala men would have sung the rain, triggering a giant storm. The storm would have crossed the country from east to west, traveling with Great Ancestors through the desert.
