Originally from Yuendumu in the Central Desert, here the artist evokes the Dreaming (Jukurrpa) of Water (Ngapa) linked to the sacred site of Pirlinyarnu (Mt.Farewell), located to the west of her community.

Dreamings are stories passed down orally from generation to generation. Knowledge of these dreams is a very long process that begins in childhood with initiation ceremonies. During these ceremonies, participants dress their bodies in paint and perform dances while singing to the rhythm of percussion instruments (often music sticks or spears).

These dreams tell the story of the great ancestors (human beings, animals, plants, reptiles, trees, fruit, etc.) who created the world in the Dreamtime and whose deeds laid down the rules of life, the Law. 

The story goes that in the Dreamtime, two rainmaking ancestors from the Jangala family called down rain with their songs, triggering an enormous storm. This storm merged with another and moved along various clan territories.
