This painting depicts the Dream of Water. It begins its course at the Puyurnu site, west of Yuendumu. Generally speaking, the riverbed is drained, creating marshes or natural water wells, known as "mulju". The owners of this site are the women of the Nangala/Nampijinpa communities and the men of the Jangala/Jampijinpa communities.

In Aboriginal cosmology, tornadoes have the ability to move with Dreamtime stories, religious stories representing the topographical features of the landscape in aerial view.
