Since 2016, Delma Forbes has belonged to the Kaltiji Art Centre. This is an art centre developed by contemporary artists including Taylor Cooper and Manitjanu Lennon. The works are inspired by a common theme: tjukurpa. This refers to all the ancestral stories and laws that the inhabitants of this region are heirs to and guardians of.

To bring these stories to life, the initiates organise major ritual ceremonies punctuated by times devoted to body painting and dance. The circles represent the watering holes and the succession of dots, the paths linking these watering holes

This work is about the ancestral stories of their clans through painting on canvas and ceramics. Delma Forbes says that this painting is like a memory of the time she spent in the bush.

She paints her environment, the land of her grandfather Witapi Wara, with an aerial vision.
