Aboriginal painter Gloria Gill Napangardi lives and works in Yuendumu, in Australia's Central Desert. In this work, she depicts the Dreaming of a herb whose seeds are edible and therefore very important in an environment where few plants grow.

There is a legend associated with this plant, but it is known only to insiders. We only know that it is the sacred site of Jaralypari that is evoked here using four concentric circles.

In this painting, which looks like a mosaic, Gloria - like most Central Desert artists - uses dot painting, inspired by the floor paintings traditionally used for ritual ceremonies.

This work is provided with a certificate of authenticity.
