Born in Pakistan in 1954 to Australian parents, G.W. BOT lived in many countries until the age of twenty, following her father who was a soldier. She studied art in London, Paris and Australia. She graduated from the Australian National University in Canberra in 1982.
This watercolour depicts a beautiful, bare landscape that looks familiar but is at the same time elusive, mysterious and indecipherable.
For the artist, it represents a metaphor for life: we try to understand it, but it remains profoundly mysterious.
