Josie Petrick Kemarre began painting in the 1990s when the first painting workshops were organized for women in the Utopia community. She is the granddaughter of Emily Kngwarreye, from whom she inherited this dream of wild flowers and berries after the rain.

Angkwerrpme is the Arrernte word for mistletoe, of which there are many types in the bush, although only three are edible. The fruit of these plants is most often called Bush Plum, as well as Conkerberry or Candleberry.
