Major painter, Ningura is one of the artists chosen to decorate the ceilings of the musée du quai Branly. You can see his zebra ceiling on the 1st floor of the building overlooking University Street.
Like other Aborigines forcibly regrouped in Papunya, Ningura was later able to settle 100 km away in Kintore (350 inhabitants), on its ancestral territory.
Ningura favors simple and clear patterns, inspired by body painting, which she treats with a limited palette, black, red, ochre and white. Here, she describes an ancestral woman giving birth in a mythological water point. One will be very sensitive to the great graphic and vibratory force of Ningura’s work.
