Originally from the ‘mother’ community of Papunya, the artist belongs to the Pintupi ethnic group. Like the painters who come from this tribe, she likes to depict sacred territories once traversed by her Great Ancestors: in this case, the area around Kalipinpa, a sacred watering place once filled by a formidable flood. She has presented them in the form of a highly abstract satellite vision evoking labyrinths that combine the static nature of the site with the dynamism of the journey.
