Aative of Kimberley, Clarrie Djanghara's paintings are inspired by the "silhouettes" of primitive divinities painted on the walls of sacred caves in prehistoric period.

The "Spirits" thus evoke spirits linked to the origins of Aboriginal culture, and are similar to the Mimih spirits whose threadlike representations can be found in Western Arnhem Land.

Clarrie Djanghara's artistic work is rich in ritual representation.

This painting perfectly illustrates the dual characteristics of Aboriginal art: a strong aesthetic awareness closely linked to a religious inspiration that, far from stifling it, nourishes it.
