Originally from Yuendumu in the Central Desert, Maggie's work evokes the Dreaming linked to the Opposum Ancestor. A woman had given her two daughters to him in marriage but later decided to run away with them. The furious Ancestor went in search of them and when he found them, killed them with a stone axe. Their bodies were turned into rocks that can still be seen today.
