Geraldine Granites Napangardi hails from Yuendumu, 290 km north-west of Alice Springs in Australia's Northern Territory. Geraldine Granites Napangardi is the daughter of artist Alma Granites Nungarrayi and the granddaughter of Paddy Sims Japaljarri and Bessie Sims Nakamarra, two artists who founded the Warlukurlangu art centre. She has two sons and two daughters.
Geraldine Granites Napangardi began painting in 2001, observing the works of her grandfather and those of Judy Watson Napangardi, a Warlpiri artist at the forefront of a more abstract style. Geraldine Granites Napangardi continues to paint alongside her mother Alma and sister Sabrina, developing a modern interpretation of traditional culture.
