Over the past decade, Nyilyari Tjapangati has established himself as one of the most exciting new Aboriginal painters from the Australian Western Desert. His paintings borrow from the rich visual traditions of his people, the Pintupi. It is a tradition that Nyilyari continues, finding new expressive means to shape these forms into striking works of contemporary art that offer us a privileged insight into a radically different way of conceiving the world in which we live.
