Polly Kngale lives in the Utopia community. She grew up lulled throughout her childhood by the rhythm of the seasons, picking with her elders the many fruits and berries that grew in her territory, Alperre. Although it is in the heart of the Central Desert, this land becomes green and dotted with flowers after the rainy season. Since the 1970s, desert painters have systematized these dotted lines to make them their “trademark”. As here, the result is a nebula effect where the variations in density of the points also designate the terrain features of the various zones of the celebrated region, which is presented as seen from the sky: we also speak of satellite vision.
