Pamapardu Jukurrpa (Flying Ant Dreaming) - Warntungurru
Reanne Brown Nampijinpa belongs to one of the best-known Central Desert art communities, Yuendumu, a remote Aboriginal community 290km north-west of Alice Springs in Australia's North West Territory. She has lived in Yuendumu all her life and attended the local school. Reanne is married and has a son, Jacob. She began painting at the age of thirteen. Reanne paints Ngapa Jukurrpa (dream of water) and Pamapardu Jukurrpa (dream of the flying ant) which she inherited from her father and grandfather. These dreams are directly linked to her land, its characteristics and the plants and animals that inhabit it.
