Origin: Queensland
Ceremonial shield decorated on one side with a beautiful symbolic design in contrasting colours. The decorations on these shields are associated with the clan totem and evoke ancestral legends. They were used in combat, but above all during the initiations of young warriors, who received them as a reward for their initiation. The colours, made from natural dyes, have protective properties. Made from light wood, with old usage marks and natural pigments, it comes from the Rainforest region in North Queensland, near Port Douglas and Cairns.
