This painting depicts the Dreaming linked to the sacred waterhole of Lappi Lappi (Western Australia), which provides water all year round and around which grow many edible vegetables and berries.
In the Dreamtime, Aboriginal women used to gather there with their children, as it was a place in which they felt safe, but one day the Rainbow Serpent, who lived underground traveling between several water holes, heard them talking and came out of the water to eat them all.
