Born in Great Britain, Alastair McNaughton studied art before embarking on a career as an illustrator. Passionate about photography, he then decided to travel the world with his camera. After Africa and India, he arrived in Australia and lived for two years in the community of Coonana (Western Australia) where he took photos like this one, “lawman” – guardian of the laws and customs of the clan – whose wisdom full of benevolence is highlighted by the choice of close-up.
