Esther uses typical western desert symbols to represent women collecting sultanas from the bush. Esther often includes larger rounds to represent the millstones on which they grind the sultanas into a sticky paste. The dough is then rolled into a ball and the women take it with them for food when they travel long distances. The small circles are the sultanas, either loose on the desert floor or still on the bush. The series of consecutive lines are the dunes (tali) in which the bush sultana grows.
