Ada Pula does not refer here to the Dreamtime (mythical time of the Creation of the World by the ancestors) as is generally the case in Aboriginal painting. Rather, this work is dedicated to the local flora, which is made up of edible plants but also and above all of medicinal plants that form a real pharmacopoeia used in traditional local medicine. The artist opts for an apparently classical subject and emancipates herself from the codes of traditional painting, preferring figuration where most desert artists work in an abstract manner evoking their territory through a series of symbols.
