Joséphine Mick is an artist from the Amata community on the APY lands (Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara). The style of the APY communities is marked by great freedom in the choice of colours and the structure of the works.

The ancestral story of Wati Tjakura is part of the tjukurpa, the set of ancestral stories and laws that the inhabitants of this region are the heirs and guardians of. To bring these stories to life, the initiates organise major ritual ceremonies punctuated by times devoted to body painting and dance.

The territory represented here is that of the Wati Tjakura, an edible lizard whose history is linked to the Aralya site.
